In this project, intep carried out a product life cycle assessment of IP-Suisse pea cultivation on behalf of IP-Suisse and compared it with peas from France and Germany. In addition, the changes brought about by certain fertiliser variants (100% farmyard manure, 100% mineral, no fertiliser) were examined.
Within the project, the greenhouse gas emissions and the total environmental impact over all life cycle phases up to and including pea protein concentrate production were determined and analysed. The other phases were excluded as they are not relevant for the comparison.
